I enjoyed this particular event. The venue choice was very good - lots of subject matter both inside and outside. Emily had sent camera settings information sheet ahead of the session, which was a really helpful idea. On the day Emily helped put these into practice allowing us to not only to start setting these ourselves, but also to experiment in adjusting and exploring these depending on the various light strengths.

The striking remains of an old dead tree stands against the mesmerising display of the Aurora Borealis in the star-filled sky over Sheriffmuir. Oh the beauty autumn brings. The rich, vibrant colours alongside the fast flowing river and charming woodland building in Dunkeld, evoke the essence of autumn. The landscape is reminiscent of an exquisite painting, with the autumnal hues of the leaves adding a sense of warmth to the natural beauty. This picture captures the serene and picturesque atmosphere of the season beautifully captured using a Sony full frame camera, Sigma Art lens and Nisi filter system mounted on a Manfrotto tripod.

We my partner and I arrived at and crossed the causeway around 4pm that day and that gave us time to look around for good compositions around the Lindisfarne castle, features we could use to give a sense of location, scale and additional interest to the aurora that was predicted to kick off soon after darkness fell. Boy it did kick off too and even when we left driving homeward around 10.30pm the aurora was still lighting up the sky with vivid green and reds easily spotted from the inside of

It was a bitterly cold morning after a heavy frost, but a nice bright start to the day. The small birds were very active searching for food, by midday the light was just right and this little robin flew right in front of me, then just hovered for a couple of seconds.
