I enjoyed this particular event. The venue choice was very good - lots of subject matter both inside and outside. Emily had sent camera settings information sheet ahead of the session, which was a really helpful idea. On the day Emily helped put these into practice allowing us to not only to start setting these ourselves, but also to experiment in adjusting and exploring these depending on the various light strengths.

As soon as darkness fell the lady came out to dance the night away giving us an hour of pure delight. The striking remains of an old dead tree stands against the mesmerising display of the Aurora Borealis in the star-filled sky over Sheriffmuir. The vibrant colours of the aurora juxtaposed with the lifeless tree create a captivating and evocative scene, symbolising the beauty and resilience of nature

We my partner and I arrived at and crossed the causeway around 4pm that day and that gave us time to look around for good compositions around the Lindisfarne castle, features we could use to give a sense of location, scale and additional interest to the aurora that was predicted to kick off soon after darkness fell. I enjoy macro photography highlighting parts of everyday object wee usually overlook. In this picture, I noted the opening of the white rose petals to reveal the reds and oranges of the stamens and pistil against a golden glow formed from the light diffusing through the scene, like the opening of a painted paper fan.
